Deborah is a Partner with Porter Keadle Moore, LLP (PKM), one of the Top 25 CPA firms in Atlanta. She has been with PKM since she graduated in 1982 from Mercer University and since 1988 has been involved in all facets of managing the business of a CPA firm. Most notably, Debbie is dedicated to women’s issues and strives to better the lives of women and children through her ongoing efforts with organizations that focus on such issues. Debbie is a former co-chair of both the foundation board and the scholarship committee of PWFI.

Debbie, like many other PKM employees, devotes a significant amount of time to professional and public service activities; as expected PKM is well known for its charitable involvement within the Atlanta community. PKM has established “Jeans Friday” which enables employees to wear blue jeans to work if they donate $5 to whichever charitable organization is being featured each quarter. PKM has currently chosen all of its proceeds from “Jeans Friday” to support PWFI—encouraging employees to “wear jeans and help a woman achieve her dreams.” This program alone, raised $1,400 for PWFI last quarter. PKM understands that educational experiences, combined with strong mentoring, support and informational resources like the ones provided by PWFI give women the opportunity to advance professionally. PKM ultimately hopes to raise enough money to be able to sponsor a scholarship specifically for women seeking a career in public accounting.
